A St. Patrick’s Day Surprise Party

How do you take a birthday party to the next level? Make it a surprise! Hosting private events in the historic Watermill is one of our favorite things to do in the off season.

We chose a darker green and gold as our main colors to compliment all the wood in the Watermill. Touches of rainbow and light green really pulled together the St. Patrick’s theme!

Top of the Morning MImosas

Upon entry, guests could help themselves to a “Top of the Morning Mimosa.” We accidentally poured them upside-down (whoops), but they were so fun and all the guests loved them! We got this idea from @thats.thespirits on Instagram.

To tie in the rainbows, we added the rest of the rainbow belts and rainbow bark to the entry table with the mimosas.

Setting Our Tablescape

Our striped table runner is from Hester and Cook, which will be featured at some of our pop-up shops. We wove in some greenery and white flowers to break up the bold green. 5 of these patterned shamrock placemats from Party City were placed around each side of the tablescape.

We scattered some shiny coins to keep in touch with the traditional St. Paddy’s Day decor. Tea light and taper candles from Home Goods gave this table such a warm, elegant gold touch.

Of course, this event wasn’t complete without the debut of our new Chiavari chairs! They looked gorgeous and really tied in the gold.

Tying balloons to the top of the chairs elevated the space and made it feel more like a birthday party!

We gave some light decor to our back table to tie in the rainbow and give our guests extra seating.

What’s a party without a balloon arch? We ordered this from Amazon, along with the gold mylar letter balloons. It was the perfect backdrop for photo-taking!
