Clemens SURPRISE Elopement (Part 1)

“I have something to tell you.”

Kennedy texted Jourdan on February 10th to tell her the news.

“Christopher and I are getting married on Leap Day.” Jourdan began to process this information as quickly as she could, thinking of all the things she would have to plan in order to pull this wedding together.

Kennedy and Jourdan have been friends since high school. The two girls and Chris went to school together back in 2010-2014. Kennedy and Chris started dating Kennedy’s sophomore year. Jourdan, James, Kennedy, and Chris have maintained a friendship since.

This wedding was unforgettable. Kennedy and Chris have been together since high school. They have two precious identical twin boys together and wanted to make their union special, so they requested Jourdan. Who better than her best friend who is a wedding planning expert?

Jourdan and Kennedy had just 19 days to pull together a secret elopement and reception for 90 people. The only people that were told about the marriage-to-be were Jourdan, James, and a few close family members.

The two girls also previously had planned a trip to Disney World February 16th-21st. That meant they had 4 days to plan all that she possibly could, beforehand. They booked every vendor in those 4 days before they left for Disney.

The girls went dress shopping and picked two— one for the elopement and one for the reception and had them altered. They booked the photographer, videographer, caterer, florist, hair + makeup, photobooth, marquee letters, bar, and more. James became ordained to marry them and other members of our team worked on their invitations.

Jourdan helped Kennedy plan the most intimate, angelic elopement at her grandparents home on Lake James. The wedding day was simply perfect— our couple was thrilled with the way it turned out and Jourdan said it was the most “relaxed” wedding she has ever been a part of.

It was a simple Thursday afternoon. Kennedy and Jourdan met at noon, had a few snacks, styled her dress for photos, and patiently awaited the few others to arrive. Chris picked up their boys from school and arrived at the house around 3:30.

April (photographer) and Tyler (videographer) worked hard to capture the sweetest moments while our couple and their boys got ready for their big day. Henry and Theo were ecstatic for their parents! They both ran around yelling, “we’re getting married today!”

The boys did a first look with their mom that brought tears to our eyes.

The couple became husband and wife just before sunset on February 29th, 2024.

Chris and Kennedy chose to do a private, non-traditional cake cutting with just their little family of four. After a few family photos, they had a private dinner, just the two of them, to celebrate their marriage.
